Culham and Riverwood - Monday January 30 8:45

Despite the shadow of COVID lingering in the background, 13 hikers had a good outing today and enjoyed the conditions -- better than usual on the flat part today and lovely with fresh snow in the upper section.

 PIFF 2023 - 10 Year Anniversary.

The 10^th instalment of PIFF – the Pathfinders International Foot Festival – took place on January 28 and 55 members turned out for the evening. They saw four shows (thanks Anita, Cathy, Michael and Tom) and marked the occasion by demolishing this festive cake. The sugar thus consumed was almost enough to restore their energy balance after everyone was forced to wait – patiently and socially, of course – while technical issues delayed the start of the show. Major thanks are owed to Julie Pennal who put aside all personal concerns and came to the rescue. We love you, Julie!

The cake was delicious.

Helgy lead a die hard group of 6 the morning after the big snow storm.

The forecast was for freezing rain, so Anita planned a local hike along 14 Mile Creek instead of the scheduled hike at Speyside. Thankfully the forecast was wrong and we only had a few ice pellets and finished the hike just as the rain started!

It was 1, but the wind made our 14 hikers feel a lot colder.
