Pathfinders BBQ, Fri 30 May 2025, 4pm, Chez Burgers

Although the annual BBQ was a week earlier than usual, the weather gods listened to the prayers of Sue Stanley and her organizing committee and provided very nice conditions. A happy crowd of almost 60 met in the lovely backyard of Kathy and John Burgers; we gorged on conversation, burgers salads, and ice cream bars. There were door prizes, a 50/50 draw, and geranium cuttings prepared by David from plants originally in Anita's garden. All in all, the event was a huge success, with many thanks to the organizers and the hosts. PS: The following day, set aside as a rain date, was cool and grey. 😁

John & Kathy received an orchid from Sue for their efforts

Rattray Marsh, Thu 29 May 2025, 8:45

Liz led 16 hikers on a nice Spring walk with some wildflowers and thankfully little mud despite the rain the night before.

Turns out the Jordans, Stephenses, and Leas clocked a total of 165 years of marriage in the current year. There's no telling how many km of hiking they clocked.

RBG Rock Chapel; Mon 19 May 2025, 8:45

David persuaded 14 others to join him on a cool and drizzly morning. And then it became sunny and pleasant! It wasn't the Arboretum as originally hoped, but the wildflowers put on a good show regardless.

Anita's Trillium Walk, Thu 8 May 2025, 8:45

All kinds of beauties were visible today including (especially!) a group of 24 seniors led by Jane. A record turnout, at least since COVID times. The spring wildflowers were pretty good as well.

Judy P led a big turnout of 22 on a day when the rain was perfectly timed....

River & Ruin, Mon 28 April 2025, 8:45

A perfect day for hiking -- and voting. Both went well.

The strong sun was a treat -- but it also made for strong shadows.
