Hilton Falls, Mon 29 May 2023, 8:45: 7.7 km, M/N

Sid led 21 hikers -- a recent high -- on one of Halton's better trails, shared today with many other groups. We were warned of mosquitoes, but they really only appeared when we stopped early on to apply repellent. Go figure!

Happy Anniversary, Sue & Tom!

The rhodos were just starting to appear, the azaleas were being shy and the tulips were mostly done, but it was a pleasant stroll regardless.

The old gal is not what she used to be....

One of the more spectacular rhododendrons

A good turnout of 14

A very vivid azalea

Hikers were promised tulips; they got tulips

River & Ruins, Mon 15 May 2023, 8:45

A most unusual hike -- River & Ruins with no mud!! Sid led us on the loop in a clockwise fashion, and it was more pleasant than the typical counter-clockwise attack. The wildflowers were putting on a good show.

 Fenwick Tulip Farm

May 3, 2023

On Wednesday, May 3, 2023, 27 of us Pathfinders set of to Fenwick to visit the tulip farm.
Unfortunately, the day started out somewhat wet; however, it didn't dampen our spirits, as fun was had by all.
There were 2 million bulbs planted this year at the farm; most of them in bloom or different stages of bloom at this time, so we were surrounded by a beautiful sea of colour.
With our entrance fee, we were able to pick our own tulips. Some of us even purchased boxes of bulbs to bring home!
Afterwards, we headed over to Jordan House Tavern for lunch, where we took up a large portion of the restaurant. The server and the kitchen were wonderfully accommodating.
A big shout out to Margaret Lea who was the main photographer, and for Anita who provided one of the group pictures - Thank you both.

Our group at the Tulip Farm - Left to right - Katheryn, Colin, Ann, Brian, Louise, Bill, Franca, Margaret, Christal, Diane, Nancy, Judy, Pam, Pearl, Carol, Christine, Leanna, Sue, Andrea, Carolyn, Frank, Debbie, Lynn - MIA from the group pics are Joe Teixeira, Michael and Tina Agrell.
