Jane Mitchell led a hardy band of 8 on a gloomy day that was nevertheless better than the forecast. The distance was 7.5 km, the rating E/E. 

 

DV Heritage & Main Loop. Mon, 24 Feb 2025, 8:45

10 hikers turned out for this 6.6 km M/N hike led by Tom Stephens. 

In contrast to the week before, the temperatures were moderate (3-4C) and the snow was well packed. The large amount of yellow snow attested to the presence of earlier dog walkers but we still needed crampons and poles, especially on the challenging hills, of which there were many. 

 

5 hikers took a break at the nearby Trail Centre, and 5 did not. Can you tell who's who? Hint: see below.
